How to manage inventory across Shopee, TikTok Shop and your own website

Inventory · 2026-10-06 · 6 min read

You sold the last unit on TikTok Shop at 2pm. At 2:05 a customer buys the same item on Shopee. By evening you are apologising and refunding. This is the most common multi-channel problem, and it is fixable.

Why it happens

Each channel keeps its own stock number. Unless something updates all of them the moment a sale happens anywhere, the numbers drift apart. The more channels you add, the faster they drift.

The fix: one source of truth

Pick one place where the real stock lives, and make every channel read from it and write back to it. Sales on any channel reduce the same number.

A practical setup

  • •Give every product a single SKU used on all channels
  • •Keep a small safety buffer on fast sellers so a sync delay cannot oversell
  • •Set a reorder level per SKU and get alerted before you hit zero
  • •Count stock on a rhythm: fast movers weekly, the rest monthly

What to look for in software

Look for stock that updates after every order from every channel, multi-location support if you hold stock in more than one place, and low-stock alerts. Orders from marketplaces should arrive in the same list as your website orders so fulfilment is one workflow, not three.

If you only change one thing this week: make sure every product has the same SKU everywhere. Everything else builds on that.
